“We each have within us the irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired”
- Robert Frost

What inspires me to do this work is simple - I experience children as unshakably good and worthy, and parents as inherently loving, caring and brave. Having worked with children and families for over a decade, I have been exposed a broad spectrum of backgrounds and parental concerns.

At the heart of my work with children is the belief that behaviour is a form of communication, and that children depend on trusted adults to meet their needs. My perspective is influenced by my education and training in Attachment Theory and research-based child development.

I offer play-based therapy for children (4+) and teens, as well as parenting consultation and training groups in my Associate role at Sandstory Psychology Services in Kitsilano, Vancouver, Canada.

How I work with Children

Play-Based Therapy

I use play-based therapy with children who are experiencing anxiety, overwhelming emotions, behavioural challenges, transitions, or social difficulties. Through play, children can safely and theraputically express feelings, develop emotional regulation and problem-solving skills, build confidence, and strengthen their sense of connection to their caregiver(s). Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate way of supporting children and teens.

Attachment Informed

I support children, teens, and caregivers better understand and process their emotions and relationships. Together, we explore how our early experiences can shape the way we connect, communicate, and respond to stress, while building greater security, self-awareness, trust, and healthier relationships. Attachment theory is a research-based framework that supports both children and adults.

Child Led

I use a child-led approach that allows children to guide the pace and direction of therapy in a safe, supportive environment. By following their lead, children learn to build trust, strengthen emotional expression and regulation, develop problem-solving skills, and help them feel more confident and understood.
